The DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) is a long-stay visa that allows foreigners to live in Thailand for up to 5 years while working remotely or engaging in Thai Cultural or Soft Power activities.

There are two main categories you can apply under:

1. Workation Category — For digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers, and online business owners who earn income from companies or clients outside of Thailand. You must show proof of remote work, or a professional portfolio as part of this. 

2. Soft Power Category —For foreigners engaging in certified Thai cultural or soft power activities such as Muay Thai or Wellness Programs. You must be enrolled in a certified program, school, or institution recognized by Thai authorities as part of this.

The DTV Visa is valid for up to 5 years, granted in 180-day renewable segments. 

However, holding a 5-year visa doesn’t mean you're automatically cleared for the entire duration without review.

Throughout the visa’s validity, Thai authorities may request periodic re-confirmation of your eligibility—especially if you're approved under the Soft Power category.

For example, if your visa was granted based on enrolment in a certified Thai cultural program (such as Muay Thai), you may be asked to show proof of continued participation in that activity in order to maintain your visa status.

Different Thai Embassies or Thai Consulates have varying requirements. 

However, below is a solid list of what you can expect provide to us as part of your DTV Visa Application: 

Workation Category: 

• Proof of 500,000 Thai Baht (or equivalent) in standard bank account (not investment account, not savings account, not crypto) 
• Employment contract or employment certificate or employment letter showcasing clear permission and ability to work remotely for said employer from Thailand 
• If you are a freelancer, instead of showing the above, you can show a professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status
• Document indicating your current location (Electricity Bill, Utility Bill, etc.) 
• Profesional headshot taken in last 6-months

Soft Power Category: 

• Proof of 500,000 Thai Baht (or equivalent) in standard bank account (not investment account, not savings account, not crypto) 
• Document indicating your current location (Electricity Bill, Utility Bill, etc.)
• Profesional headshot taken in last 6-months
• Proof of confirmation to attend the activity eligible under the Thai Soft Power Category (such as a Confirmation letter from a Certified Muay Thai School or an Appointment Letter from a Thai Hospital) 

Yes. You must apply for this Visa outside of Thailand through the Thai Embassy & Thai Consular system. You will receive the visa digitally via email. Once approved, you present the Visa PDF to Immigration at the port of entry when entering Thailand.

No. You do not need to visit a Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate in-person. Our process is done entirely online. 

No. Employment and work inside of Thailand is strictly prohibited with the DTV Visa.

However, you can work from Thailand remotely for your employer or clients abroad. 

But you cannot take a job with a Thai company or legally earn income from within Thailand or engage professionally with the Thai Economy in any way while on this visa.

Yes. You can add your spouse and children under 20 to your DTV Visa.

This can be done only after the Primary DTV Visa Holder has been approved. 

If your spouse does not have their own Bank Account with the equivalent of 500,000 Thai Baht in it, then you can upload a Letter of Sponsorship explaining that you are the primary earner alongside your Bank Statement showing that you have the required 500,000 Baht (or equivalent) minimum your Bank Account.

That said, we operate with full transparency and expect the same in return. If your application is denied due to false or misleading information, including tampered documents (e.g. falsified bank statements), no refunds will be issued—on either our fee or the government fee.

But if any part of your application is compromised by dishonesty, we reserve the right to deny all refund requests.

Yes. Our service fee is 10,900 Thai Baht and is separate from the Government Application Fee. Our service fee covers all professional support, guidance, and executions part of your DTV Visa Application. 

The Government fees to apply for the DTV Visa are dependant on your local Thai Embassy or Consulate. 

Here's a current breakdown of DTV Government Fees across a few different Thai Embassies in a few major countries:

• Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, USA - USD $400
• Royal Thai Embassy, Ottawa, CA - CAD $650
• Royal Thai Embassy, London, UK - £300 
• Royal Thai Embassy, Berlin, DE - €350

You must independently cancel your pre-existing Thai Visa, apply for a Temporary 7-Day period of Stay, and then leave Thailand and apply for the DTV outside of the Kingdom.

This is dependant on your local Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate, but we've found that the process typically takes around 1 to 3 weeks for our clients from start to finish assuming you're responsive with the documents that only you can provide us (ie. you are relatively quick in sending us your Bank Statement for example).
