Retirement
Non-O Retirement Visa
The Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Retirement Visa is Thailand’s most established long-stay option for foreign nationals aged 50 and above. You obtain a 90-day visa first, then extend it for 12-months from there. It's renewable every year and is a popular option for foreign retirees.

Before you start
Why do Non-O Retirement Visa applications break down?
You can secure this visa yourself, and some people do. Six things reliably trip people up: proof of funds confusion, sequencing errors, timing mistakes, banking complications, application Shortcuts, and coordination failures.
Proof of funds confusion
Retirement visas require proof of finances, but the rules around methods and verification are full of intricacies.
Sequencing errors
Certain steps must be completed in a strict, very specific order, and one misstep can cause major headaches retroactively.
Timing mistakes
Application steps can only be done within narrow windows, and showing up too early or too late often means wasted trips and stalled applications.
Banking complications
If accounts are not set up correctly, banks may request repeated verification or place temporary holds, causing avoidable delays.
Application Shortcuts
Quick fixes may get you approved once, but often create renewal problems that are harder to solve later.
Coordination failures
Extensions require documents from different sources. None of these parties coordinate, and most do not communicate clearly in English. Retirees are left stuck in the middle.
How we work
How does Thailand Blueprint simplify the process?

Step by step
How long does this take, and what do you have to do?

Year two and beyond
What happens year after year?
A Non-O is extended every year, and how the first year is set up decides how simple that is. We put every date in your portal, and tell you what has to happen and when. That leaves you free to do the annual extension yourself, for as long as you like. Nothing in the way we set you up ties you to us, or to anyone else.
However, if you would rather hand it over, we can handle it. This is also where people already living in Thailand on a Non-O come to us for the first time.

Your client portal
What happens after your visa is approved?
Every client keeps the portal after approval, at no further cost. Your 90-day reports, TM.30 filings and the annual extension all sit in one place with their due dates, so nothing arrives as a surprise a week before it is late.
“We always knew where we were at because of their online portal.”
“I switched from another company after they failed to inform me of the do’s and don’ts to maintain an easy visa extension the previous year. The after care advice was just another bit extra.”

The Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Retirement Visa is Thailand’s most established long-stay option for foreign nationals aged 50 and above who wish to live in Thailand in retirement.
Read the full answerWhat are the financial requirements, and why does the deposit amount vary by country?
There are two financial methods available, the Bank Deposit Method and the Pension Income Method, and understanding how each one applies at each stage of the process is one of the most important things to get right before you begin. So let’s be clear about the numbers first, and then explain the nuance.
Read the full answerWhat documents do I need to provide for the initial 90-day Non-O Retirement Visa application?
Thailand Blueprint handles the preparation and submission of your Embassy application on your behalf. To do that, you will upload the following into the secure Thailand Blueprint client portal (opens in a new tab):
Read the full answerWhat happens after I arrive in Thailand? How does the 12-Month Extension of the Non-O Retirement Visa work?
Once you arrive in Thailand on your 90-day Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Visa, you are provided a stay permit that reflects 90 days of Non-Immigrant visa status. From there, Thailand Blueprint works with you in person during your first week on the ground to complete the following steps in the correct sequence.
Read the full answerWhy does the order of steps matter so much?
The sequencing of this visa process is genuinely critical. Certain registrations, documents, and appointments must be completed in a specific order because each step unlocks the next one. If that sequence is disrupted, even by something that seems minor, the application can be rejected, forcing you to restart or wait.
