Answers · Non-OA Retirement Visa
Can I apply for the OA Visa if I am already in Thailand?
No. The Non-Immigrant ‘OA’ Retirement Visa can only be applied for through a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside of Thailand. It cannot be obtained or converted to from within the country.
If you are currently in Thailand and want to pursue the OA pathway, you will need to exit Thailand first, apply through a Thai Embassy or Consulate in the country you travel to (or return to your home country to apply), and then re-enter Thailand once the visa has been issued.
If you are already in Thailand and do not want to leave, the Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Retirement Visa is a more appropriate pathway to explore, as it can in some cases be initiated from within the country depending on your circumstances. Thailand Blueprint assesses this during the eligibility call and will give you a clear recommendation based on where you are and what you are trying to achieve.
